So often when you’re putting material up online you need to resize or crop a picture, or change its format, or airbrush a little imperfection, or do a screenshot… …or fiddle with a transparency… There are just endless things you might need to do at a moment’s notice – they take seconds if you know how and rarely warrant paying someone to do them. So it’s nice to know that that there’s a reliable piece of open source software that’s freely available for Windows, Mac and Linux that can do 95% of what the hideously expensive Adobe Photoshop can do (or at least all the stuff the likes of you & I will ever use).
The one disadvantage of Gimp is its user interface is somewhat unintuitive – easy when you know how… Apparently they’re working on it. In the meantime, if you get stuck, you can book a graphics training session from our services section!
